Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Krystella is a Certified Mental Health Peer Specialist with a passion for supporting others through compassion, understanding, and lived experience.
Krystella has personal experience with trauma and mental health challenges, which inspired her to help others who may be navigating similar experiences. She always knew in her heart that she wanted to make a difference and provide hope, encouragement, and support to those in need.
She attended The University of Texas at Austin, majoring in Social Work. Although her mental health journey impacted her ability to continue her education at that time, years later she discovered the field of peer support and realized it was the path she had been looking for.
Today, Krystella focuses on mental health peer support and uses her voice through Austin MHC social media to spread awareness, encouragement, and resources.
Outside of her work, Krystella enjoys tubing rivers, exploring nature, collecting rocks, gardening, and playing games on her Xbox 360.
