Debbie joined the Admin Team at Austin MHC in September 2023. She has lived experience in long-term recovery since April 2015. Her passion for recovery and helping others, combined with many years of customer service experience at an animal hospital, led her to pursue a career as a Certified Recovery Support Peer Specialist.
In addition to her role as an Office & Reception Coordinator, Debbie provides resources to our members and is always available to offer a listening ear or share her lived experience with those who may be struggling. She finds it both rewarding and fulfilling to be part of the Austin MHC team.
Debbie often shares: “When I stop judging others, my fear of being judged is greatly diminished.”
She also shares: “If sharing the experience of our pain helps just one person, it was worth the suffering.”
