Hello, my name is Christa. I’m a Mental Health Peer Support Specialist Intern at Austin Mental Health Community and a graduate of Texas State University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I bring both lived recovery experience and academic knowledge to my work, and I’m passionate about supporting others with empathy, and advocacy.
I integrate trauma-informed care into my work and believe that healing can happen through connection, creativity, and feeling truly seen and heard. Guided by self-reflection and personal growth, I strive to create safe spaces where individuals feel supported in their recovery journey.
Outside of work, I enjoy painting, writing, and photography, as well as spending time in nature and with animals. In the future, I hope to pursue licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to continue expanding the ways I can serve others in the mental health field.
