Peer Mentor Outreach Team
LPC-S, LPHA

Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor and board certified Supervisor. She began her career in 2010 working in the trauma and crisis field with families who were affected by abuse, neglect and/or violent crimes. Amanda worked closely with law enforcement, Child Protective Services, the District Attorney’s office and Dell Children’s Hospital. Amanda has worked with many populations of all socio-economic backgrounds and with clients with varied mental health needs.  She has treated adults and adolescents, welcoming all ethnicities, orientations and affiliations. Amanda takes pride in her ability to work with diverse populations and meeting clients “where they are” in order to assist them in getting what they want out of the therapeutic process. She made the move to private practice in 2016 bringing her skills and experience into the Central Texas community. She works with clients from a strengths-based perspective; building on her clients’ abilities rather than focusing on weaknesses. Her training includes Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & Solution Focused Therapy; which she incorporates using an eclectic approach to therapy utilizing her clients’ strengths and what works best for the individual. There is no “formula” in the therapeutic setting and Amanda prides herself on building rapport and an alliance to assist her clients in getting what they desire from the therapeutic process. Amanda also takes pride in her work within the Peer Support Community. As a psychotherapist she has found working in collaboration with Peer Mentors gives clients support needed that is outside the scope of therapy. Amanda works closely with Austin Mental Health Community as a Clinical Supervisor.
