Krystella Rangel

Krystella was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and is a Certified Mental Health Peer Specialist in Austin, Texas. She serves as an Office Administrator and Peer Mentor. She has lived experience with trauma and mental health challenges. In High School, Krystella knew in her heart that she wanted to help others in need and those who have had similar experiences as she has. She attended The University of Texas at Austin majoring in Social Work. However, her mental health prevented her from continuing her education. Years later, she learned about Peer Mentors and realized it’s what she has been wanting to do for a while. Now she is a Peer Mentor at Austin MHC at the SHAC and is enjoying it. For fun, Krystella likes to tube rivers, take walks in nature, collect rocks, garden, and games on her Xbox 360.
