The Peer Specialist’s Guide to Professional Confidence is a 1.5 hour continuing education training for Peer Specialists and Peer Specialist Supervisors that explores how Peer Specialists can recognize their value, strengthen their professional identity, and build confidence in their role. Many Peer Specialists enter the workforce with powerful lived experience and unique skills but may struggle with self-doubt, imposter syndrome, or uncertainty about how their role fits within larger service systems.
This training examines the strengths, knowledge, and perspectives that Peer Specialists bring to the workforce and explores strategies for navigating workplace challenges while remaining grounded in peer support values. Participants will reflect on their growth, identify personal strengths, and develop tools for communicating the value of peer support with confidence. Through discussion, self-reflection, and practical exercises, participants will strengthen their ability to advocate for themselves, their role, and the people they support.
