Supporting the Peer Role: Preserving Lived Experience in the Workplace is a 1.5 continuing education training explores the supervisor’s role in protecting and strengthening the unique value of peer support within behavioral health organizations. Participants will examine common challenges that can unintentionally shift Peer Specialists away from authentic peer practice, including role drift, clinical expectations, over-professionalization, and organizational culture. Through discussion and practical application, supervisors will learn strategies for preserving the intentional use of lived experience while supporting accountability, professional growth, and recovery-oriented services.
