The experience should have you question your tact in handling crisis situations, worldviews, and many other day-to-day situations that may occur. How it Works
- weekly supervision meetings with a credentialed PSS (Peer Support Supervisor)
- Your Peer Support Supervisor will be professional, in good standing, and keep track of your supervision meetings, including dates and notes.
- Your PSS will provide feedback and guidance for portions of your peer support that may raise questions or concerns as you work in the field
- You receive reflection to see how your own biases and gaps in knowledge can impact the quality and direction of your peer support
- Supervision is billed at $200 per month which consist of weekly meetings which can be provided face-to-face, via teleconference, through observations, and in a group setting
What's Required
- In the state of Texas and as a MHPS (Mental Health Peer Specialist), RSPS, or RPS, you will need 250 total supervised hours in order to be able/eligible to receive your certification.
- The nature of your work must be predominantly peer support for it to count toward your supervision hours.
- You cannot be in administrative role for your hours to count.
- Supervision will follow the Texas Administrative Code for PEER SPECIALIST AND PEER SPECIALIST SUPERVISOR CERTIFICATION.
