DESCRIPTION:Building Collaborative Relationships: Working Effectively with Interdisciplinary Teams is a 1.5 continuing education training explores how Peer Specialists can build effective working relationships within interdisciplinary teams while maintaining the integrity of the peer role. Participants will examine communication strategies, role clarity, advocacy, conflict resolution, and professional collaboration that strengthen partnerships with clinical and non-clinical colleagues. Through discussion and practical application, participants will develop skills for navigating differing perspectives, promoting mutual respect, and contributing to recovery-oriented services without compromising peer support values.\nLearning Objectives\nBy the end of this training, participants will be able to:\n\nDescribe the unique contributions of Peer Specialists within interdisciplinary teams.\nIdentify strategies for communicating effectively while maintaining role clarity and professional boundaries.\nApply collaborative approaches to address misunderstandings, differing perspectives, and workplace challenges.\nDemonstrate advocacy techniques that strengthen the peer role while fostering respectful and recovery-oriented partnerships.\n\n
